On Sunday the 25th August 2013 we are going to hold a Gathering of Charlies! Everyone is welcome to dress up as Charlie Chaplin for our attempt at increasing the number of Charlies getting together in the one place! We will be hoping to be listed in the Guinness book of records !

Charlie Bird & Eileen Dunne

Charlie Bird kindly agreed to compere the opening ceremony again this year which will be officially opened by Minister for Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht, Jimmy Deenihan on Thursday 23rd August at 7pm.

Eileen Dunne will compere the Gala Awards Show on Saturday 25th at 9pm, This promises to be an evening of great entertainment, music and enjoyment.

Charlie Bird is a radio presenter and one of Ireland’s most accomplished journalists covering stories within the country and throughout the world. Some of his best-known reports include his interviews with Holy Ghost priest Fr. Niall O’Brien facing the death penalty in the Philippines, the Mountjoy prison rooftop protests in 1990, and his revelations of the NIB Bank scandal with RTÉ Economics Editor, George Lee.

Eileen Dunne is a senior RTÉ Newscaster and currently presents RTÉ’s Nine o’clock news programme, the ‘God Slot’ on RTÉ Radio 1, and is International President of the Association of European Journalists.
